In 2012, Rylan Nickle Tuohy uploaded a hip-hop music video to YouTube. Twenty hours later, it had reached 40,000 views—and he was hooked.

At the time, Rylan was an applied physics undergrad at the Naval Academy. Still, every free hour he could find went toward making the next project. Working with zero-dollar budgets, he learned how to elevate ideas with ingenuity rather than resources.

That constraint became an education in itself.

Resourceful and instinctively audience-aware, Rylan began shaping each video around what made it resonate—leaning into tone, pacing, and cultural relevance.

If a video was going to travel, it needed to tap into what made people care, laugh, or share.

Between 2012 and 2016, he released more than twenty videos that collectively garnered over 10 million views, leading to live appearances on major news networks. It was only the beginning.

After commissioning as a Civil Engineer Corps officer and completing two overseas deployments, Rylan knew it was time to scale what he’d learned. He did exactly that.

In 2022, the year Nickle Productions was founded, Rylan was writing and directing a wide range of projects through production companies and labels—collaborating on work connected to major studio releases, national brands, and marquee events. That momentum quickly carried into producing original work in-house.

Today, with a trusted network of crew working across the U.S. and abroad, Nickle Productions delivers full-scale creative production for clients ranging from early-stage startups to multi-billion-dollar companies.
